Prayer Ministry Appointments

A prayer ministry appointment (PMA) offers a safe, supportive and prayerful space where Jesus brings healing to the heart, freedom from what holds you back and renewed hope for the journey ahead. Bursaries are available to those seeking a PMA but who may be struggling financially.

When Life Hurts...

We all carry things that weigh on our hearts — hurts we can’t shake off, fears that hold us back, or painful memories that still linger.

Sometimes it’s a deep sadness, a broken relationship, or a struggle we can’t seem to overcome no matter how hard we try.

When life feels confusing or heavy, Jesus invites us to bring our burdens into His healing presence.

Jesus says...

“Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

 - 1 John 8:32

Jesus says...

“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”

 - John 8:36

Jesus says...

“He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free.”

 - Luke 4:18

Jesus says...

“I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

 - John 10:10

Jesus says...

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest… my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

 - Matthew 11:28-30

What is a Prayer Ministry Appointment?

A Prayer Ministry Appointment takes place when two CPM prayer ministers, sometimes a third (usually a trainee prayer minister), meet with a prayer ministry guest in a pre-arranged safe, confidential and gentle space - this can be either in-person or online.

A PMA is not unlike what you might experience in a counselling or therapy environment. But here, the similarity ends - a PMA is not counselling.

Unlike the prayer ministry you might experience in a local church setting, a PMA is a much longer form of ministry, lasting 2 to 3 hours. It provides the guest with ample time to share their story and be fully heard, before receiving Spirit-led ministry in the name of Jesus.

Preparing for your Appointment

Coming for prayer ministry is a simple and personal step—there is no need to have everything figured out beforehand.

You may find it helpful to take a little time beforehand to reflect on what you would like prayer for. This might be something specific, or simply a general sense of needing God’s peace, healing, or direction. You are welcome to come just as you are.

How does a Prayer Ministry Appointment work?

A Prayer Ministry Appointment follows a gentle, Spirit-led journey of meeting, sharing, listening, responding, and continuing to walk with God as He brings healing, freedom, and transformation.

Meet

Appointments are held in a safe, confidential and comfortable setting - either in person or online (over Zoom) and will last between 2 and 3 hours. The date, time and place will all be arranged with CPM in advance.

Share

You will be invited to share what's on your heart, at your own pace. The ministry team will listen with compassion, helping you notice where Jesus may already be at work beneath the surface.

Listen

After a short break, the team will facilitate the Holy Spirit’s ministry based in what you've shared, asking simple questions, praying quietly, or inviting Jesus to minister into specific areas of need.

Respond

As God brings insight or healing, our prayer ministers will help you respond—letting go of burdens, receiving truth, and praying blessings over the areas He has touched. You leave strengthened and encouraged.

Continue to Transform

Following your appointment, we will offer further guidance to help you continue to heal and transform. Receive encouragement, next steps, and resources as you walk out God’s healing and truth.
